Church councils are required to ensure that those who use their premises under license (or rent premises for regular or occasional use) receive a copy of the local ecclesiastical protection directive and declare their willingness to abide by the Methodist Church`s protection policy or equivalent guidelines and procedures (such as the Scouting and National Protection Policy). The Methodist Church is not required to allow anyone access to church premises unless access to the premises is necessary as part of its role or the regular rental of premises. Before the keys can be issued, the key holder is requested to sign the declaration and confirm the conditions of issue. Methodist Model Trust Property can be used by other churches or Christian communities for worship separately to the Methodist community under Model Trust 14 (2A), Model Trust 14 (1) and Standing Order 920.
