In 2012, Israel declared its intention to strengthen technological and economic cooperation with the Indian state of Bihar in the fields of agriculture, water management, solar energy and health insurance. An Israeli delegation visited India in August 2015 and met with officials from the Union Ministry for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. Israel`s Ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon, also asked the Union`s Minister of Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Venkaiah Naidu, to offer Israel expertise in water management to combat water scarcity.
